Today was such an interesting day. What started out as a simple grocery shopping trip for me changed completely when I bumped into Larissa, Heather, and Tiffany on the bus.
Instead of going shopping according to my original plans, I went with Heather and Tiffany to Parkwood, Pennington's and followed along as they shopped for clothes and bras. Afterwards, we headed over to the Treasure Cove Casino and (borrowing the phrase from Tiffany) I was "de-virginized" as this was my first time going to the casino. Although Heather and I were not so lucky, apparently Tiffany was, she actually won money.
Following the casino, Tiffany and I managed to peer pressure Heather into coming to the newly opened bubble tea place at Spruceland: the Capstone Teaspresso cafe. This is apparently my new favourite place for drinks now.
As it was getting late, Heather decided to leave for home after we finished up at the cafe. Tiffany and I went off to Blockbusters to rent movies. I got The Thief Lord, Zoom: Academy for Superheroes, and Happily Never After. While at Blockbusters, we also bumped into Mike and Manda, too!^^ Apparently this is a bump-into-your-friends day.
Finally, I managed to do some slight grocery shopping afterwards. However, I subconsciously did not get everything I wanted to, so that I have a reason to go out again tomorrow and swing by Capstone again!^^ (Guess I really missed having bubble tea!^^) All in all, a fairly nice day and I got to spend time with friends.
Finished watching Eragon today. It is a good movie. ( Spoiler Warning for those who haven't seen it ) Those who haven't seen it should maybe think about it (unless the genre is not your type, of course).
Wow...it seems like today was actually a fairly productive day for me. I actually went out and did my grocery shopping properly. Also, I met Heather and Hollie by chance at Tastebuds when I went to grab food before shopping and we had a lovely talk.
And I also went to Blockbusters and rented Eragon and Stranger than Fiction to watch!^^ Surprisingly, Stranger than Fiction is not entirely like what you would expect from just watching the trailers. It is really an interesting movie to watch; though some may not like Will Ferrell, he did a fairly good job that is different from his usual character types. I recommend this movie to those of you who have not yet seen it.
As for Eragon, I'm saving that for another day. (Whee!!^^ Dragons!!)
So yesterday was Manda and Mike's party. It was really great; although there was apparently problems that I was not aware of: I had no idea that someone brought pot and I had no idea that Tiffany is allergic to them. Overall though, the whole thing was really fun.
There was high tea at three p.m. and we had sandwiches and tea. Then people started showing up for the dinner (and drinking), and that was great. People brought so much food. Although later I had discovered that I did not actually eat that much food (must be because of the high tea), the food that everyone had brought and I had sampled were all really good. I had no idea that there were so many people who were such good cooks!
I had heard the stories, but this is my first hand experience at seeing how touchy and cuddly some people can be when they are drunk^^ Though I myself do not drink (besides the small sips), it was suggested that I osmosis the drunk energies through the air (or something like that) from other people. So I do not get drunk, but I become slightly perky and hyper.
Good luck to those who have graduated, will be moving on and whom I may not see again. May you go on to a bright future, though the road leading to it may not always be clear and straight. For those who are still in P.G., we will most likely see each other again^^
Since I have been posting so few lately, I'm trying to be more productive (heh...if you can call it that...). So yesterday, I went over to Heather's and a bunch of us watched Happy Feet together. That was an interesting movie. Still hard to picture Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) singing, but he wasn't really bad at it. And most people agree that it was really pitiful of Lovelace (the penguin that is being choked, drowned, lynched near the last half of the movie). And I bought a USB memory stick yesterday too. I've taken another step forward in trying not to be a computer idiot (or is that gadget idiot?). Hopefully, I'll be able to make partial good use of it.
YAY~~~~~!!!!! I AM DONE!!! All my exams are now finished. YES!!! And technically, I'm grading (if I don't fail any classes). But I will still be around for quite a while. I have to do work experience with children to get references, then I will hopefully get into the education program (for 2 years). And then I will be done with school officially.
But for now...who cares!!! I am done exams!!!! Wheeeee!!!
I went to the mall today intending to get some manga at Great White, unfortunately, it seems like their shipment was late or something. So then I decided to wander over to HMV since Suzie mentioned that they were selling anime at 2 for $30 or something. And then I saw it...Final Fantasy VII Advent Children: Limited Edition Collector's Set!!
So, yup, I bought it!^^ It was expensive, but I think worth it. The set contains: 2 discs, 10 postcards, the English script, a booklet of side stories, and extra artwork. I can do without the script, but who cares. I'm mainly after the side stories and the postcards and art anyways.
Whee!! I'm so happy that I bought it! (And I can delete the fansub of the movie and anime that is taking up space on my hard drive^^)
Ok...Recapping yesterday quickly. The Phoenix From The Ashes Benefit Dance for Stephanie's family was yesterday and went off fairly well. It is too bad that some people were not able to make it. The night started off with people just mingling around and bidding on the silent auction. Then the reptile and insect guy came and pretty much everyone crowded around him with the exception of a few who stayed away (due to the fact that they were creeped out by the spiders/scorpion/snake, etc.) Then there was dancing, even Tiff, Chandelle, and I who normally don't do it danced as well. Some of us even got to learn how to do dances such as the circle dance or the waltz. The evening ended with everyone who stayed till the end helping with clearing up the place and those people that won a bid from the auction claiming their items. Overall, it was a fun evening.
Just got back from Stephanie's Benefit Dance/Silent Auction From the Ashes; am tired, so just a quick summary for now. 1. There was dancing. (Yes, even I danced!) 2. The Silent Auction. (I won the bid for a gift certificate for Great White and 2 movie ticket thingies)
Too bad that some of you guys couldn't make it. It was really fun. Anyways...Good Night ^0^ *yawn*
Rented a movie that I've never seen, so decided to share the experience of watching it by bringing it over to Celustro's. The title of the movie is called 'The Great Yokai War'. My opinion...? You would have to watch it to better understand it. But truthfully, there were a lot of cultural references that just passes right over me when I watched it, there were moments where it was actually amusing, and the message that the movie is trying to say seems fairly important. Overall, it isn't such a bad movie, but I wouldn't call it a great movie...
I figured it is time to attempt and try out the many different functions of LJ, so here's my first post with a video from YouTube. Note that the whole thing is technically copyrighted, so I hope I don't get into trouble for this...
And also, the video also serves a function of showing my geekiness to others. So without further ado, I give you Fearless: the hand-puppet version. Edit: For those that don't know, Fearless is the movie that Jet Li is in. This is just a fanvid(so to speak).
OMG!!!OMG!!! I slept through both of my classes today!!!!! Crap....somehow I knew that this would happen.... Maybe next time, I'll learn not to let my sleeping schedule go to the pits during breaks or long periods of free time.....
Hopefully none of you had the same trouble and enjoyed, if not a great break, then at least a decent break...
Now....*chants to self* I will wake up on time tomorrow, I will wake up on time tomorrow, I will..wake....*zzzzz*
Well....I haven't posted in awhile, but I have been reading others' posts. It seems like almost everyone is going through a rough year...and it seems as though there is simply nothing I can do besides sending my wishes...
So I'm just here to say that if there is even the tiniest possible thing that I can help with in anyway, I am willing to try my best and help in whatever small, minuscule way that I can. If I can't help in anyway at all, at least you'll know that there is still someone out here who is listening to your rants.
WHY IS THERE SO LITTLE JOURNAL ARTICLES AND SOURCES ON THE TV SERIES "DEAD LIKE ME"!!!!! MY PRESENTATION IS TOMORROW AND SO FAR I'VE ONLY FOUND ONE SOURCE...
True...I probably shouldn't have procrastinated so much....but I know I'll get it done in time.... It is just so frustrating that there is so little sources on this series... So I don't really have to worry that much....it is just sad that there is so few sources that is usable...
So last night (this morning...?) was fun^^ Those of us who went out laughed and/or danced; some drank, some didn't, but I'm pretty sure most of us had fun. Also, we got to meet some new people as well as people we haven't seen in awhile, so that's great, too. Thanks for inviting me.^^
Once again: A BIG Congratulations to you, Lizzie!!!^_^
Now...if only my toenails aren't still fuschia...I guess hot water and hard scrubbing really doesn't do anything...Oh well, at least I tried... (Must do something about it later...)
Just came back from Lissy's bachelorette party night.... Going to bed now...will post thoughts and necessary comments after enough sleep has been had...
Today, I went to a Snow Picnic with Chandelle, Heather, Manda, Mike, and Tanya up at Shane Lake. It was great fun!^^ We had hotdogs, veggie dogs, marshmellows, and other yummy stuff. Saw several people walking with their (oh so cute~~) dogs as well as two squirrels which are very friendly.....except when they were fighting each other over bread or biting Manda....(hope you feel ok, Manda!) I'm totally up for another Snow Picnic and this time I will come better prepared with the essentials such as gloves, extra food, etc. I second the idea of having it in someone's backyard or something, so that more people can show up.
Since I skipped out on the Anime showing, I have nothing to do. So...Another boring Friday night with nothing to do.... Guess I'll actually do some school work....*sigh* ......... ......... .........NOT!!
I'm more likely to practice new ways of staring off into space...lol... Hope none of you are as bored as me....
